Youthful Living!!

Updated: May 24, 2022

“There is a fountain of youth; it is your mind, your talents, the creativity you bring to your life and the lives of people you love. When you learn to tap this source, you will truly have defeated age.” — Sophia Loren

One of the reasons I love the above picture of myself is it has a resonance of youthfulness, and portrays one of my philosophies/beliefs that we are as youthful as we allow our body, emotions, mind and spirit. I cannot change the day I was born; I can change and determine my "youth-fullness". I'm participating in the Deepak Chopra 21 day meditation called "Energize Your Life - Secrets for a Youthful Spirit". This is turning out to be a favorite since the meditation supports my philosophy of being youthful. We are going into the last week and you can still participate in some of the meditations. Email me and I will send you the information!!

Here are some ways we can all stay youthful!

  1. Play on the floor everyday! It doesn't matter how; just move and allow your joints, muscles, connective tissue and bones to awaken. Just like a child does when they play on the floor...no thinking, just moving!

  2. Meditate. Mediation is one of the best ways to keep your mind young. How about a Yoga Nidra session?

  3. Have a youthful mindset by changing things you do. Maybe go a different way to work, wear a colorful top/shirt, go barefoot! Be fearless and experience life! What about taking a Nia FreeDance class that invites change and creativity in all of you life? "The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience.” – Eleanor Roosevelt

  4. Smile as much as you can! Your smile not only makes you appear 10 years younger, you light up the room with your radiant smile and make everyone around you feel younger too!

  5. Laugh at least once a day!! Laughing reduces stress and brings everything into perspective. How about a Laughter Yoga Session?

  6. Get up and Dance!!! Not only does dance reverse aging of your brain, it is so darn fun!! How about joining me in a Nia class?

  7. Step into present-moment awareness to stay young and hopeful! This is where we open ourselves to the infinite creative possibilities of the now. It is where we will find joy and peace.

  8. Daily give your body gratitude for all he/she does for you. Affirm: "Thank you body for my youthfulness!!!" Namaste, Joanie
