Creative & Healing Flow of Water

“May what I do flow from me like a river, no forcing and no holding back, the way it is with children.” Rainer Maria Rilke

I believe Water’s highest purpose is Love.

Lately I have been feeling dehydrated, and not in the sense of my body's need for me to physically drink more water. I have been dehydrated in my emotions, thoughts and in my realm of possibilities, which at times take on shapes of being critical and judgmental. Last week as I stepped into my home studio, I put on a Spotify playlist I found that had elements of water, and allowed water to be my dance. During my dance, water replenished me. As my joints became mobile, and my muscles became supple, my connective tissue throughout my body started to expand and become soft. Tension oozed, and as I got deeper into my dance, water nourished my emotions and mind. I became calmer and more compassionate, and from this place all my movement flowed with the ease of a gentle running stream. As I stepped out, I felt renewed and clean!

Water IS each of us; our cells, connective tissue, muscles, everything. Water is sacred and from a physical place, we need water to live. Water also unblocks impurities within my body, emotions, mind and spirit, and creates the space for a constant flow of potential and creativity. I believe Water’s highest purpose is Love. Being with water, love flows freely and comes to me with grace.

I’m dancing this week to a routine, Mandala, in my Nia classes that I love to dance to at this time of year, with the focus of Water and the intention to Heal and Create. In my Yoga classes my focus is the same and I will use the Spotify playlist I discovered last week. I am excited to share both with you and hope it helps you as it has helped me.

I’m off now to get a big glass of water. AND…BTW, your pinky finger (boundary finger) connects with the element of water. Just saying! :-)

Namaste,

Joanie

Join me in my Nia and Yoga classes this week as I focus on the element of water. Bringing the element of water to our practice gives us flexibility and mobility in our body, joints and muscles, and also gives us fluidity in our emotions, and mind and allows the creative juices of our spirit to flow. Check out my schedule HERE! Also, check out my Nia White Belt and Nia FreeDance trainings in 2017. Exciting locations and maybe it’s your year to step in!!
