I love this time of the year in my beautiful city of San Antonio! The weather is cool and crisp, and there is a sense of change in the air. It is also a time of year where the practice of "Gratitude" is present everywhere, and WOW the ripple effects this has on our world. So let's make this practice a daily occurrence and change the world! One of the easiest ways to incorporate gratitude into your life is upon awakening, give yourself a big hug and thank your body for all he/she has done for you. Then activate movement through your 13 major joints of you body: ankles, knees, hip sockets, wrists, elbows, shoulder joints and your spine. Close your eyes and sense the energy and aliveness of your body!! Then step into your day!!!
Gratitude is much more than an attitude or mood – it is a powerful positive input to our mind-body system that leads to increased physical and psychological wellbeing. Grateful thoughts instantly transmit their effects to our body’s 75 trillion cells, creating new brain cells, new pathways and brain patterns. By directing our awareness toward gratitude, our entire mind-body system is automatically oriented toward greater health and balance. Whenever I go into my self pity or self doubt, I do my best to think of 1 thing I am grateful for. It changes my moment, changes my attitude and I love that it changes my brain!
So join me in the practice of "Gratitude" today and everyday!!
